Mountain View, April 1, 2009 – PureWave Networks, Inc., an innovative provider of advanced, cost-effective 4G wireless base stations, today introduced the first in its new PureWave Quantum family of compact, high-performance mobile-WiMAX (802.16e) compliant base station products. The PureWave Quantum 1000 is a rugged, all outdoor solution that can be mounted virtually anywhere, including utility poles, roof-tops and cellular towers. Using an advanced four antenna array, the PureWave Quantum 1000 provides more throughput at a greater range than any similar solution available in the market.

PureWave Quantum compact base stations offer operators the performance and scalability of a macro base station, combined with the flexibility and small form factor of a Pico base station. They can be operated with or without an ASN Gateway, making even small deployments economically viable. In addition, PureWave’s software defined radio architecture allows operators to upgrade their networks by means of over-the-air software upgrades, as their business needs grow and as new functionality becomes available, thus ensuring the long term protection of their infrastructure investment.
PureWave will provide a live demonstration of PureWave Quantum 1000 at CTIA 2009 Booth #764, South Hall.
