PureWave Networks believes that WiMAX and LTE will continue to exist side-by-side, as each technology best addresses the needs of specific market segments. The company is committed to supporting both technologies for the long term, and has an innovative product roadmap that addresses both segments of the market.
While many incumbent wireless carriers are in the process of adopting LTE, many other operators will opt for Mobile WiMAX. PureWave also expects Mobile WiMAX to continue its wide scale deployments in vertical markets and applications, such as municipal networks, utility smart grid networks, campus environments and other private networks.
The two standards will allow customers to choose the technology that is most appropriate for them, based on their commercial needs and on the wireless spectrum that is available to them.
With a unique technology and market advantages (zero foot print, smart antenna technology, low power consumption etc.) that are applicable to both 4G standards, PureWave Networks plans to play a major role in the future of both LTE and WiMAX.
